“FAMILY SECRETS: HOW THE VALLEY’S BEST SUCCEED” INTERACTIVE WORKSHOP BRINGS SOLUTIONS TO LIFE FOR FAMILY OWNED BUSINESSES

PHOENIX – The Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce has joined together with The Thunderbird School of Global Management, the Human Side of Enterprise and the Arizona Community Foundation for the “Family Secrets: How the Valley’s Best Succeed” interactive workshop. This workshop has been created to give a select group of local businesses the opportunity to network with each other as well as learn from local experts in family business consulting. The workshop provides a twist on the traditional workshop format as the discussion with the participants and experts takes place between acts of the production “The Perils of Pauline’s Family Business.”

This half day event provides a comfortable learning environment for family owned businesses to discuss the unique challenges taking place within their own enterprises. Actors will role play the challenges facing Pauline and her business, issues such as how to adjust to generational differences in management style, how to deal with the different skill levels of her children and what to do if her in-laws are more capable than “blood.” These and other challenges will be presented via three family “meetings” over Thanksgiving dinners occurring at different points in the life of the family. The audience (family business owners) will participate in a facilitated discussion by two leading family business experts, Ernesto Poza and Leslie Dashew.

This workshop to be held on Tuesday, November 10th will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts located at 7380 East Second Street, Scottsdale, Arizona 85251. The cost for the workshop is $100 per person, which includes lunch. Interested family businesses can register online at www.PhoenixChamber.com/foe
