PARTICIPANTS SELECTED FOR CHAMBER’S ATHENAPOWERLINK® PROGRAM

(PHOENIX) – The Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce has announced four local businesses as participants in the 2009/2010 ATHENAPowerlink® program. Now entering its eighth year, the ATHENAPowerlink® program encourages economic growth by linking women-owned businesses with teams of experienced advisors who volunteer their services to give growing companies direction and untapped networking at no cost to them for one year.

The four businesses who will participate in 2009/2010 are:

• Accounting and Finance Professionals: Deanne Desautels
• Advantage Urgent Care: Karen Watts-Edwards
• Angles PR: Ania Kubicki
• Optimum Chiropractic and Wellness: Dr. Annette Wright-Smith


The ATHENAPowerlink® program has expanded nationwide and the Chamber is proud to be the first to offer the program in Arizona. To qualify for The ATHENAPowerlink® program businesses must be:

o at least 51 percent owned and actively managed by a woman or women
o must have been in operation for a minimum of two years
o must have a minimum of two full-time employees or a number of employees whose work schedules are equivalent to two full-time positions and
o must meet annual revenue requirements.
