GREATER PHOENIX CHAMBER OF COMMERCE LAUNCHES NOMINATIONS FOR THE 2009 ATHENA AWARDS
Prestigious Awards Honoring Valley Business Women

(PHOENIX) –The Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce is now accepting nominations for its prestigious ATHENA Awards. Nominations will be accepted for three awards, which include honoring two women in business representing one from the private and one from the public sectors as well as honoring a young professional between the ages of 21 and 35.

Named after the Greek goddess of wisdom, the ATHENA Awards honor women who strive toward the highest levels of professional accomplishments, excel in their chosen field and have devoted time and energy to their community. ATHENA nominees are judged on leadership and achievement, community service, and support for the professional development and mentorship of women.

Finalists will be chosen in each of the three categories and three honorees will be presented the distinction at the Chamber’s 22nd Annual ATHENA Award luncheon October 21, 2009 at the Arizona Biltmore Resort & Spa.
