CHAMBER TO HOST “MENTOR MATCH” A MUST ATTEND EVENT FOR VALLEY ENTREPRENUERS
Event will provide Valley Entrepreneurs with a Coach for the New Year
(PHOENIX) – The Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce (GPCC) is partnering with the Arizona Public Service (APS), the Phoenix Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) and the Arizona Small Business Association (ASBA) to host “Mentor Match”– on Thursday, January 29th from 9:30 am to 11 am. The event will take place in the Chamber’s Board Room.
Mentor Match is a unique event where Valley entrepreneurs can learn about the many mentoring programs available for their business. Each program has different requirements and is designed to assist businesses at different stages in their growth and development. The following four programs will be highlighted:
- Academy for the Advancement of Small, Minority and Women Owned Enterprises (AAAME) offered by APS
- AthenaPowerlink offered by the GPCC
- Phoenix Mentoring Program offered by the NAWBO
- T.I.M.E offered by ASBA
Mentor Match will kickoff with a 10 minute overview from each presenting organization outlining their program guidelines. After the conclusion of the introductory presentations, business owners will have the opportunity to visit with each organization’s representative to ask questions and identify which mentoring program offering best fits their business model.
“Mentor Match is a great starting point for Valley entrepreneurs who have made a New Year’s Resolution to improve their bottom line in 2009.” commented Katie Pushor, president and CEO, Greater Phoenix Chamber of Commerce. “This event provides a one-stop forum for business owners to learn about existing mentoring programs and services and evaluate what resources would best support the growth of their business.”
Mentor Match is part of the Chamber’s Back to Business 2009 Series offering business information and resources for business owners. This event is free of charge and open to the public. However, seating is limited so all attendees must register at www.phoenixchamber.com. Mentor Match questions should be directed to Marissa Law at mlaw@phoenixchamber.com or 602.495.6461.
